January Daybook Post 2019

Outside my window ~

A quick and abbreviated recap of our January -

Where most of the nation is blanketed in an arctic freeze, I have this outside my front door.

I am thankful for ~

* Sarah's official acceptance into nursing school.  The day before she headed back to school earlier this month, David was sewing on her student nurse patches, and I was able to catch the sweet moment on camera.

* It made my mama's heart happy to see the teens playing a game of dodge ball in the street the night before Sarah left.  They use to play this all. the. time. as children.

From the school room ~

May graduation will be here before we know it!

* Miss Ester started working toward her degree this month via the dual credit program at the local college.  We are incredibly proud of her, and let me assure you that she is counting down every single minute until high school graduation day :)

* Field trips are always the best!  Our home school group took a field trip to the local In -n- Out restaurant.  That's always a fun and yummy trip!

From the kitchen ~

Compliments of Miss Ester and Mabel (and Pinterest)!

This soup (from my Vitamix cookbook) is so delicious!

What I have read recently ~

On December 31, I finished up the HUGE challenge of reading the Bible and Catechism of The Catholic Church - in one year!

Around the house ~

A couple of weeks ago, we had our first "snow" in a year ;)

Just enough to build a teensy, weensy snowman - ha ha!

Some little girl in our house recently turned 7 years old and celebrated with a space theme :)

I'll put up a separate post for this soon!

I am praying for ~

* our nation and that we will turn back to God in all things

* an end to abortion - May God convert the hearts of Gov. Cuomo and the state legislatures in NY.

Coming down the pike this week next month ~

* St. Valentine bowling party

* home school talent show

* DCYC (Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference) for my high school girls

One last photo to share ~

We went camping last weekend to celebrate Miss Clementine's birthday.  The state park we went to was GORGEOUS!

A post on this trip coming soon!

And just like that, January is over in a blink of an eye!

To all of my friends and family in that Arctic blast, stay inside (if possible) where it is warm and safe.
