Fire Station Field Trip

We had quite a few activities going on in December, one of them was seeing a fire station that has a real fire pole that firemen use. Ha ha!  The children gave a big cheer when one of the firemen demonstrated the use of the pole.  Another reason this particular station was so fascinating to tour was that it housed a museum as well with a couple of (refurbished) antique fire engines and a piece of the towers from 9/11.

The firemen were genuinely happy to have our little group tour.  It was informative, interactive, hands-on (they took us upstairs to their living quarters and let the kiddos eat cookies at their kitchen table!), and educational.

God bless all of our first responders!
