Kitchen Remodel Reveal

Finally!  I found the downtime to take photos of the kitchen remodel that David worked on all summer long.

It turned out better than we thought it would!  So here we go...

BEFORE:

AFTER:

My favorite part are all the drawers.  Oh my goodness!  The space they provide and the easy access the drawers create is fantastic.

Remodel part II (here)

We are so relieved the project is over since it took longer than expected.  He did a marvelous job staining, spraying, and hanging all that wood!  I am grateful for the talent that God has blessed my husband with.  (Insert praying hand emoji!)

  4. Patty, it looks stunning. So slick and modern and updated and way more spacious. Great job to your husband. I have no idea how he made new cabinets fit the preexhisting spaces. THAT I've got to show my husband! Love the new drawer pulls and great job 'getting through it!

    1. We own a roll out shelf company so he can modify the roll out drawers. He cuts out the style (the middle board that runs vertical between the two cabinet doors) to create more space. Thank you, Tara. I really have enjoyed the new look immensely. And I know the finish won't come off of these!

    1. Thanks, Mary. The rock wall was so amazing to watch go up. I love how it pops out so "Texas style"!

    1. Wood working is such an amazing talent, isn't it?! He use to make furniture and cabinets. Then he went into selling manufacturers cabinets. After moving to Texas, he started a roll out drawer business on his own. So the basically custom fit the drawers and refaced the cabinet frames. The doors he ordered new and then stained and sprayed them. Not "hard" but very time consuming.

  8. Are you loving your roll-outs? We have some under our stove and that is where I keep all my pots/pans...so convenient! It looks great - hopefully the temps will cool down enough soon that you're wanting to be spending time in there!

btw - i put together a month menu. I was inspired by you and feel so accomplished that we all know what's for dinner a month in advance. And, there are no repeats, other than alternating pizza/taco on Thursday. Thanks for the nudge to get back into this routine! ;)

    1. You know, I had all roll outs prior (it's own a small mom and pop company / roll out drawers). He just refitted everything. But the really cool part? He added these sweet glides on the drawers and self closing hinges on the doors! I am so pampered!

Yay for the monthly menu!! I found it not only saved TIME but money as well. And I noticed I forced myself to expand my horizons.

  9. Love, Love, Love it! The lower cabinets as drawers is awesome! I did a few in my remodel a few years back but wish I'd done more.
    Drawers are the BEST!

  10. I WANT YOUR KITCHEN!!! I'm so ready for a new one...the 60's look just isn't getting it anymore, especially when almost all of my drawers aren't usable!

  11. Sometimes DIY works just as well. Kitchen remodeling is an important project, especially since this is the room where families eat together and connect. To cut the cost of remodeling, I personally altered my kitchen island by using rustic pallet wood. It was extremely simple. Connecting a sliding ladder to reach high cabinets is another example of my DIY remodeling.

  12. This kitchen is simply stunning! I absolutely love the stainless steel appliances. Stainless steel adds a touch of sophistication and modernity to any space. The beautiful cherry cabinets are a lovely contrast to the lighter countertops, flooring, and walls. I admire all of the storage space you have. What a joy it must be to cook in this kitchen!
