What's for Sunday dinner?

I do not dare complain about our cold temperatures, because it has been down right nasty in the Midwest and upper plains.  Yikes!

(Stay warm and safe, my friends!)

My meal planning is going to be easy - peasy with a Chili bar (chili and all the fixin's) for dinner.

Dessert.  I have been hankering for a coconut cream pie.    (Recipe here.)

Anybody have any special things planned for their Sunday dinner?  A birthday dinner?  Anniversary dinner?

  1. What interesting fixings do you have on your bar? That coconut cream pie looks so yummy.

    1. Let's see...I put out sour cream, shredded cheese, jalapeño peppers, oyster crackers, rice (believe it or not, chili is SO good on top of real rice), and maybe some baked potatoes. They just make their dishes with what they want. It's pretty easy!

    1. It was one of my dad's favorite I believe. For some reason, I always think of him when it comes to Coconut Cream pie.

  3. We did chili last weekend and that helped keep us warm indoors while the frigid air swirled around outdoors. It is especially yummy when it's like 0 degrees. lol.
I will have to think of something amazing for Sunday Dinner. I am trying to be more intentional in the new year about things. You know, just general every day things, but things that I tend to get lazy on. Like Sunday Dinner. Thanks for the reminder to make great plans!
I wish I were coming over for that pie though. Dang!

  6. Hi Patty! We have been inspired by your Sunday dinners for a few months now. :o). Yesterday we had pot roast (Pioneer Woman has a great recipe) with rice, and the snicker doodle cheesecake for dessert. Thanks for being such a great role model for making Sundays special!
