Splish Splash

Our favorite time of the year to swim is when we have the subdivision pool to ourselves!  These were from last week.

Throw Back Thursday pictures (Sept 2013)....

(There's nothing cuter than baby chunkiness in a swimsuit!  I miss it!)

So, Miss Ester and I are taking off on Saturday for a 3 day trip.  It is her 8th grade trip, a bit earlier than normal due to a very busy 2015 that is on the calendar.

We are pretty excited to spend this time together.  If you would be so kind as to keep us in your prayers for a safe trip and for David as he mans the fort while this mama is gone.  I thank you for them.

Have a great weekend and a blessed Sunday!

  3. Prayers to St. Christopher for safe travels. Is this eighth grade trip a tradition? Not a formal group trip? I'm just curious (ie being nosy!).

    1. Not nosy at all!! I was just thinking, I probably should've explained that one better.

Living away from extended family all their lives, no one to share the big moments in life with (except First Holy Communion), I've always tried hard to make birthdays, sports competitions, academic achievements extra special for our kids. They've miss a lot of cousin time unfortunately as well as family get togethers.

In order to celebrate the end (or in this case, near end) of elementary school, we decided that I would take that 8th grader on a special weekend, somewhere that they studied about during homeschooling. Two years ago, I took Miss Sally to Washington D.C. So, this year, I'm taking Ester to New Orleans to look at all the French/Catholic culture we have studied.

We were not able to fit this trip in next spring or summer, so we are taking it early. Kind of going against the grain, but isn't that what homeschool is about? ;)

Thanks for asking. I think I'll clarify it more when I post on it after the trip. But again, thanks for asking!

  4. I love that you take the time out to make extra special memories (pool, trips,...). Sometimes it is easy to get caught up and decided there just is not time. You pictures are magic! I want to come swimming. :)

  5. I love your pool pictures. It's so hard to get the lighting right at the pool. the sun and the glare from the water is tough but you nailed it! Love seeing their (and your) happy faces. Have a wonderful trip!

  7. Hi Patty! Prayers will be coming your way! I've never been to New Orleans, but the photos look so pretty. I wonder if you will see Katrina effects? So much wonderful faith and tradition to see and experience...have the best time!

  8. Love the cool pool pictures! It looks like a fun place to cool off! I love your 8th grade tradition trip! Hadn't thought of that, but would love to take a trip with my daughter solo (after I'm through nursing, whenever that will be?) Hoping you have a great trip!
