Throw Back Thursday

I've never done a Throw Back Thursday post, but after reading (and seeing) Billie Jo's last post, it brought back joy-filled memories of our Christmas two years ago…

I was 34 weeks pregnant - during Advent!

What a blessed time it was!

I was 43 years old and made it safely this far into a pregnancy.  We did not know  the gender of the child, and every member of our household was overflowing with joy for Baby Joy!

One of my favorite Christmas' ever.  Hands down.

Advent Blessings!

*** My daughter Sally just said, "I wonder if Mom knows she did a Throw Back Thursday on a Wednesday?!"

I thought it was Thursday!  Ha ha ha!! ****

    2. Little? No. Sally just did a GREAT job angling the camera. I think a week later, I did a "Big Mama" post and now when I look back I'm like, oh! my! Goodness! It was a full side shot - holy smokes! LOL

    1. Yes it was, Laurie! Especially that surprise "Wise Women's baby shower" across the miles. :) Those special acts of kindness will never be forgotten!

  5. It's funny because I was just thinking the other day about our pregnant days together. Wow, two years ago and baby bellies with my due date buddy, that almost seems like an eternity and yet just yesterday. Your throwback made me smile this AM, and it is now Thursday so I didn't even notice the difference :)

  6. Patty, I am 41 (with a history of uterine rupture) and would sincerely love to have another baby. I love that you were able to at 43 and just look at her - so sweet and adorable!
BTW, I still can't believe I deleted your sweet comment, I am truly sorry about that. My big finger and my tiny phone screen do not go well together!

    1. Thanks, Kathryn. I have to say…it was HARD physically. I had little energy and could really see the difference. But that's not to tell women in their 40's it can't be done. The blessing about it (and I'm sure you saw this within your own family) is that the older kids (my daughters in particular) pitched in and helped out SO much with everything else. God had His plan for David and I. The joy was so welcomed after the pains of miscarriages.

The other thing I noticed, and David, too, was that we have enjoyed and truly appreciated each mile stone in C's life. We were at a different place in our lives when she was born, and knew that this joy would most likely not be relived until grandkids came along :)

Oh…don't worry about the deleted comment! Hahaha!
