Happy Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe!

Patroness of unborn children and of the Americas.

I think she is SO beautiful!

(The image of Our Lady as it miraculously appeared on the inside of St. Juan Diego's tilma.)

Three years ago, my friend Tiffany posted about her pilgrimage to Mexico City to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

I would LOVE to go there... some day.  Would you like to join me?!

The story of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego can be found here as well as a list of miraculous facts.

It's an extremely busy finals week in the Hughes Academy so, we will be focusing on reading a couple of books in our spare time… well as taking a peak at the shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe in our church…

Our Lady of Guadalupe,
Mystical Rose,
make intercession for holy Church,
protect the sovereign Pontiff,
help all those who invoke you in their necessities,
and since you are the ever Virgin Mary
and Mother of the true God,
obtain for us from your most holy Son
the grace of keeping our faith,
of sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life
of burning charity, and the precious gift
of final perseverance.

Advent blessings!

  1. Beautiful my friend...

    Thanks so much! : )

  2. Hi Patty! These photos are so gorgeous! Happy Our Lady of Guadalupe day! I just came back from mass, but the children's mass for the school is going to be in Spanish today. We also have a pretty big Hispanic Ministry, and they will be celebrating this weekend.

My husband used to travel to Mexico quite a bit, and he always seemed to be there for this feast. Oh the stories he told! Floods of pilgrims streaming to churches that were saying masses one after the other....even people crawling and walking on their knees down the side of highways. Imagine!

I'd love to get there one day for this feast. But in the meantime, I'll celebrate our pregnant Mother today!
    Blessings :)

Thanks for stopping by!
