So...What d'ya think?

New highlights.

Was going for a smidge sun-kissed lighter...and it came out...red.

This is a BIG change for me.  Totally out of my comfort zone.

(Seriously.  Self-portraits have to be one of the most awkward things!!)

Would you believe me if I told you my Miss Ester helped me???  She did the whole cap and hook process.  I think she did a pretty dang good job!

Hair cut.

Had that done about five weeks ago.  I kept the length and the hair dresser thinned the bulk out adding tons of choppy layers.  (I think she used a razor to it chop away.)

Every time I walk past a mirror, I'm not sure who I'm looking at.  It's going to take a little bit of getting use to I think.

  1. I like it, and I love your cut! My hair grows SO fast that a short cut never lasts - so I just grow mine and put it up 90% of the time. I've noticed a lot of grey hair lately and have been toying with the idea of color. Not sure yet.

    1. Thanks! Mine grows fast, too. The pixie cut needed a cut every four weeks. Growing out has been rather easy. (I actually found a "how to" on Pinterest! Ha ha!) I use to color my grays. Was quite happy with the results. Very natural looking. This is the first time I have highlighted (bleached) my hair.

  2. I love it. Especially the color, but I love the longer look as well. :)

    1. Thanks, Laurie. I don't really want to go too much longer. I'm very happy with the style...the color accentuates it I think. It's just that the color is nothing I've had, and I'm still not sure :)

    1. Thanks, Billie Jo! You are so sweet. I needed you yesterday. I have no mother or sisters or female in-laws nearby. So I ran to the neighbor's next door and begged her to be honest...to let me know if I should "correct" it. She said to leave it, too. My hubs...he likes it. A lot. Said it is different for me, but not a bad different. He like how my haircut stands out better than it did prior to the highlights.

    1. Thanks, Annmarie! Ventured out to subdivision pool last night and had another neighbor looking at me a little strange. Ha ha! I'm still looking at myself in a strange way!

  6. I love your new look! Funny...the husband just asked me to go red...he loves red hair. I've always been blonde, when I'm not dishwater...not sure if I could pull off red...I do have green eyes! You look beautiful!!! Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Valerie. I had gorgeous blond hair (like your children's) when I was younger. As I aged, it "aged" and grew more dishwater blond. It really started turning dark around 40. Then gray appeared. I didn't like the gray! Ha ha!

  7. I LOVE IT!!!!!!
    But I'm a redhead ;)
There are two types of red headed women--those that can
    and those that can't.
    You can!

    1. Ha ha! Your comment had me laugh. I feel like super woman now! :) Going out in public is the hardest thing right now. Those who are use to my dark hair...I feel like the new kid in school! :)

  8. I reeeally like it... and LOVE the cut. I grew my hair out a few years ago and now just catch it up in a ponytail or bun, but this makes me miss my own layers. Your highlights look more auburn to me than red (to me there's a difference), and are EXACTLY the color I always wanted. Lovely!

  9. I haven't been blogging really but I have to say I absolutely LOVE your haircut and if my hair had any body or any thickness to it, I would be printing your picture and heading to the hairdresser tomorrow. Love your new header picture, too, by the way.

    1. Thank you for the encouragement and compliment!!! I actually found a way to grow out the pixie cut on Pinterest. I think this past spring, I wrote a post on it and linked to the girl's blog that gave directions on how to get it cut while growing out.

  11. How gorgeous you are, Patty!! Love, love, love. For cute. The cut and the color are perfect. So jealous. Agree with Jen, you are one Hip Mama!!

Now, it's back to my natural wavy hair that isn't taking the heat well and my graying hair that (AGAIN) needs a desperate color. Maybe I'll just shave it off for the summer. lol.
