Guardian Angel Art

Things had been kind of  hairy  around here the past couple of days.

With a LOT going on... David out of town hunting for 36 hours ... finals week (1st quarter) ... it was a perfect storm.

But our guardian angels watched over us.

We regrouped...cancelled TKD and swim team practice....gave Clementine the naps she was needing...and started our day with 2 art projects to honor (and thank) our guardian angels.

Project #1 -

Guardian Angel prayer cards.

Front side was a cut out image of an angel, colored and glittered, then glued to card stock.

The backside held the guardian angel prayer.

I just typed them and the kids cut and pasted the prayer on the back side of their cards.

Project #2 -

Simple, little, standing guardian angels.

Aren't they cute?!

The two kids who made these...well...let's just say these guardian angels should be a reminder how to behave during school, especially since my little "angels" share the same work table.

(The ideas came from Art 1 for Young Catholics - Seton Press)

A thing about Guardian Angels....

Angels and men are the chief creatures of God.  They are created spirits without bodies.  Some remained faithful to God and those angels entered into eternal happiness with God.  The "good" angels help us by praying for us, acting as messengers from God to us, and by being our guardian angels.  ~ The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism No. 1.

Happy feast of the Holy Guardian Angels!

  1. What great crafts, Patty ...and good for you for rearranging your day during your hubby's hunting trip! I know that feeling well and we do the same thing here...relaxed days are in order when Daddy's hunting! Good night!

  2. Those both turned out great! We didn't do a craft today, in fact we haven't been very crafty around here at all. I need to pull out my Seton art book and find some fun things to do!!

  3. Cute, cute, cute! On Monday we worked on some St. Therese Feast Day projects, but yesterday being our wedding anniversary, we spent time cooking in the kitchen! We did talk about our Guardian Angels and the help and guidance they provided us in one of the more dangerous rooms of the house! Hoping today to catch up and so some feast day/guardian angel crafts. cute ideas.

  4. Good call on the regroup!! I love your crafts. I can't believe that it has been 4 years since we made those- sadly, I misplaced them and don't have them for our decorations this month. Hopefully, they will show.

And I love Clementines hair! I really just want to reach through the computer and squish her cheeks!
