Peanut Butter Blossoms

Peanut Butter Blossoms

This is another easy-breezy recipe and super easy for the Littles to bake.

I prepared this dough yesterday afternoon in a matter of minutes and then Ester and Mabel rolled, sugared, and baked the entire batch on their own!

Stan helped place the chocolates...trying very hard not to eat any!  :)

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 tablespoons of additional granulated sugar in a bowl set aside
About 5-6 dozen Hershey Kisses milk chocolates

1.  Heat oven to 375 degrees F.  In large bowl, beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and eggs with mixer on medium speed.  Mix in flour, baking soda and baking powder.

2.  Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in additional granulated sugar in bowl.  Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.  (Mine rolled their cookies slightly bigger than 1").

3.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes.  Immediately press 1 chocolate candy in the center of each cookie.  Remove cookies from cookie sheet to wire rack and cool.  The chocolate candy will melt slightly securing itself to cookie.

*The recipe said it would yield 7 dozen, but we got 5 dozen out of it.

P.S.  With all of this baking...we are allowed to  sample one of each kind as they cool off and then off to the freezer...out of sight, out of mind!

Advent blessings!

  6. Definitely sample is what I say! Have to make sure they came out ok, right? Your Santa dish is so sweet! Many blessings to you and yours during Advent!

  7. Thank goodness for your helpful little elves! Love your baking recipes... Made the Italian cookies for an exchange last year. They are so moist and simply yummy. We make these chocolate kiss cookies every year for our neighbors and friends. I've streamlined it to 3 ingredients- oh yeah!
