My Maria

She was up at 6am.

We made her stay in bed for another hour.

Sleep is a waste of time when you turn 8 years old!

Our friend J.J., who owns the donut shop up the street, told her to come in for a birthday treat.

It's going to be a great day and a great year for this Little Miss!

She received some new frogs.

These are really the easiest pets a mother  child could want.

They are suppose to be either two males or two females.  Hmmmm....what do you think?

They played this "hugging" game for a good 10 minutes which kept the kids howling with laughter.

Ester asked, "Are they mating?!"

David and I think we may have tadpoles soon.  What do you think?

She named them Perciville and Nelly (any Little House on the Prairie fans out there?)

We are off to a fantastic day!

Last spring, Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark was offering a half price special to homeschool families.

So, that was a no-brainer!  Snagged that deal immediately.

It was good for this week in September.  Looking at the calendar, I booked a room for tonight.  And what is really cool is that we can start using the waterpark as early as 1pm this afternoon.

We didn't tell the kids until this morning.  Do you think they were excited?!

  4. Great planning, momma! I laughed out loud at the frogs and had to show my husband who, being the repository for all things trivial, said that there are some species of frogs who are gender neutral and can procreate with other gender neutral froggies. who knew! I think they are make and female! Sounds like a wonderful birthday celebration for your daughter and family at the water park lodge.

  6. The frogs can be purchased at www.wildcreations.com. I went with the basic package for $25. They last quite awhile and are very easy to keep up. They make great gifts!
