Family

Visits like this make me really miss living closer to family!

My sister Jane and her family flew in for the weekend.  (They live up in Missouri).

(My sister and her husband.)

We had a big breakfast Saturday morning and then headed to the pool.

The little blond man is their youngest, my godson, and Stan's good buddy.  They always get along as though they live right next to each other.

This little man (above right) is their oldest son and only 2 1/2 months younger then Ester.  They are both the quiet ones; the more passive ones.

And those two above, well, they both LOVE the Texas Rangers!  He is my sister's middle child.

After lunch, we took everyone on the DART, (the Dallas subway/train), into the city.  We visited Dealey Plaza, where President JFK was assassinated.

Their boys loved the train ride experience and received a great history lesson at the same time!

By the time we got back, we were hungry for some real Texas BBQ.

We swapped some kids for the night and the cousins had a fun sleep over....a couple cousins stayed with us....and a couple of ours stayed at their hotel.  I think everyone went to bed tired but happy :)

Sunday.

We met for early Mass, picked up donuts, and after changing clothes, we were soon on the road to do more site seeing.

Their Texas Ranger fan really was hoping to see the Rangers Stadium.  No problem!

Ugh....I didn't have the right setting on and I forgot my lens hood so the picture didn't turn out.  But you get the picture (*wink*)

Their son was so excited to see this ballpark he said, "I feel like I could faint!"  Too cute!

And if you have never been to the park area, immediately across the street is Cowboy Stadium.

(A much better group shot!)

Our next stop was to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.  Cowboy country.   We were only their about 1 hour when the high, gusty winds (thank you, Hurricane Lee)  kicked up the "dry as bone" dirt.  It became a dust bowl so we left shortly after.

On the way home, the men picked out a restaurant for us to eat dinner at....Uncle Buck's (micro-brewery) inside Bass Pro.  Notice the words "micro-brewery" and "Bass Pro" ?!

Sunday night the men took the kids to a park down the street while Jane and I had a quiet moment all to ourselves.   The quiet time ended too quickly!

This morning brought good bye's.

Good bye's are hard, aren't they?

My sister sent me a text saying that the boys wished we lived closer.  I know.  Me, too!

We had an amazing visit with them all.  We are so glad that they took the time to visit us down here.  One thing about anyone who visits us, we love to send them home exhausted!
